Watch Video on class website and complete the Delivery Section of the graphic organizer  Start Constructed Response Essay on page 49 for Martin Luther King Speech in Memphis. Identify the elements of content (e.g., arguments, evidence, rhetorical devices, tome and mood) and organization that each speaker uses. Then explain which speech is most effective. Include specific evidence from each speech Note students will be doing essays on both The Speech in Memphis and The Cesar Chavez Speech, 1984 speech.  The second essay will be next week and the speeches the beginning of Week 8.
Tuesday	Warm-up Vocabulary Book E pp. 11-12 Word Strategy Essay Template Intro. BP1 and BP2 Identify the elements of content (e.g., arguments, evidence, rhetorical devices, tome and mood) and organization that each speaker uses. Then explain which speech is most effective. Include specific evidence from each speech Note you will be doing essays on both texts and giving a speech.	Complete Essay Template BP3 And Conclusion.
Wednesday	CAHSEE Diagnostic If you finish and are sent back to class re-read Vocabulary Book E and take notes in RW Notebook.	Type Essay and Submit to Turnitin.com by Friday at Midnight! NO late work will be accepted on this essay! Grade Window opens November 3rd  so there is no time for extensions.

Do Unit 1 Vocabulary pp. 21-25 Definitions and Completing the sentence.  Vocabulary Quiz on Monday. For extra create flashcards using flashcardmachine.com (Use private not public settings).
